The American Oncology Institute (AOI) raises awareness of mouth and mouth cancer with its new “we travel with you” campaign

In honor of National Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month, the American Oncology Institute (AOI) has launched an Oral and Oral Cancer Awareness Campaign. AOI, through its brand slogan “We journey with you”, aims to reinforce their commitment to the well-being of society. The campaign aims to highlight the high risk factors associated with all kinds of smokeless tobacco products (STLs) while raising awareness of preventive measures.

Working on a healthcare-related campaign comes with a unique set of challenges unlike any other industry, said Tina Choudhury, Campaign Brand Manager, CTSI South Asia. “We have to choose the right message and the right medium, keeping the creativity intact but very simple. Our latest oral cancer awareness campaign is specifically curated to bridge the gap between communication and relevant messaging. By harnessing the power of social media, with the right media mix, we aim to raise awareness that smokeless tobacco products are not an alternative and can cause cancer. As part of this campaign, a short film “Kal Ki Soch” is released for the benefit of public health. We are already seeing traction in the campaign, and I hope to reach a wider audience to raise awareness about mouth and oral cancer,” she added.

As part of this campaign, AOI conceptualized and released a short film on public health interest called Kal Ki Soch. The short film features two children who raise awareness of the health risks associated with the consumption of smokeless tobacco. The digital campaign is live on AOI’s social media channels and broadcast in over 10 states in the form of out-of-home and other in-house advertising.

AOI is South Asia’s leading cancer hospital chain and operates 16 cancer hospitals in the region. American Oncology Institute is a wholly owned subsidiary of the largest cancer medical technology company, Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company. While AOI offers the best clinical expertise, technological superiority and service excellence, this campaign focuses on the risks associated with smokeless tobacco, which can also cause oral/mouth cancer. This awareness campaign aligns with the central idea of the campaign, namely #AOICancercare and #Wejourneywithyou.
