MTN Ghana CEO Selorm Adadevoh Named ‘CIMG Marketing Man of the Year 2020’

MTN Ghana CEO Selorm Adadevoh was named Marketing Man of the Year 2020 at the 32nd National Marketing Performance Awards organized by the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

The award recognizes excellence in strategic marketing in the areas of market knowledge, people management, corporate reputation management, CSR and sound marketing management.

The citation to Mr. Adadevoh for being Marketing Man of the Year reads in part as follows:

“A marketing business executive, a shrewd administrator and a high performer is what many see in you; and these distinctions were not lost on our team of assessors who could not but agree, so this crowning moment.

You’ve run a business that’s dedicated to delivering a bold new digital experience to your customers, and you’ve managed to impress them by making their lives so much better.

At the same event, MTN Ghana won three other awards, including:

  • Marketing Practitioner of the Year 2020 – Mr. Eli Hini, CEO of Mobile Money Limited, a subsidiary of MTN Ghana
  • New media campaign – MTN “Wear it for me”
  • MTN Ghana retained its CIMG Hall of Fame award for the second year in a row

The awards are in addition to many other awards given to the company and its leaders across numerous platforms in recognition of its performance during a difficult year – 2020, a year that saw the outbreak of the global COVID pandemic. -19, transforming businesses and their operations. MTN Ghana has demonstrated resilience in its operations and has invested heavily in corporate social investments to help the government of Ghana in its fight to contain the pandemic.

Receiving the Video Marketing Man of the Year award, Mr. Adadevoh expressed his gratitude to MTN staff, partners and stakeholders for their support and contribution to the success of the company. The CIMG Awards were instituted to deepen the interest of the marketing profession and its members and to ensure that the Institute has a positive impact on the exercise of its rightful role in the society, economy of Ghana and the world in general. The 32sd Edition of the Awards also coincided with the 40e Anniversary of CIMG and 25e MTN anniversary and was organized under the theme “Reposition Ghana to leverage the AfCFTA for economic development.
