Former Starcom executive resurfaces as Green Hat’s first CEO

Former Managing Director of Starcom Melbourne and Managing Director of Marketing for BMW, Stuart Jaffray joined B2B marketing agency Green Hat as its first Managing Director.

Jaffray resigned from the media agency Publicis at the end of August, to finish at Starcom in mid-September after three years.

He will report to CEO and co-founder Andrew Haussegger in his new Melbourne-based role. It starts this month.

Jaffray joins Green Hat after recently resigning from Starcom.

He brings two decades of marketing experience to Green Hat, having worked on both the agency and client side. Jaffray has also worked in creative and CRM agencies in Australia and London.

Haussegger said: “B2B marketers are looking for ‘B2B’ solutions for their marketing challenges. We need a different approach to consumer marketing. We are delighted to have secured the services of Stuart who brings the right mix of thinking that I am sure will inspire our clients as well as our team.

“The growth and measurement of B2B brand awareness, the rise of account-based marketing (ABM) and the rapid adoption of digital are the key themes. We are accelerating our product and strategic proposition to support our customers in this rapidly changing landscape. Stuart’s diverse skills and leadership experience will be a key ingredient in our growth.

Jaffray said: “I am very happy to join Green Hat. Andrew has built a fantastic business with a clear purpose and position. The agency has a formidable clientele and a competent and experienced team. My goal will be to further elevate the agency’s capabilities from a talent and product perspective, ensuring that Green Hat continues to deliver transformative growth to its clients ”

Other recent hires at Green Hat include Joel Thomson as Director of Content and Lisa Degen as Director of ABM. The agency said hires came from strong growth.

Jaffray joined Starcom in 2018, moving from automotive brand BMW, where he was general manager of marketing. He took office in 2014, spending a total of 11 years with the brand.

Starcom CEO Nick Keenan heads Melbourne operations after he leaves.

Australia’s largest software-as-a-service (SaaS) company, TechnologyOne, named Green Hat as the leading B2B marketing agency in November of last year.

TechnologyOne is a provider of integrated business software and one of Australia’s top 150 companies listed on ASX.
