Fendace pre-fall 2022 advertising campaign
If you’re like us, you’ve no doubt loved every detail of the Versace x Fendi collaboration, which Donatella Versace and Kim Jones unveiled during Milan Fashion Week last September. The wait for the highly anticipated advertising campaign to accompany the marvelous Fendace collection is finally over and true to speculation, Steven Meisel has been tasked with capturing this iconic collaboration. Pre-Fall 2022 ads feature an impressive lineup of models: Anok Yai, Adut Akech, Naomi Campbell, Imaan Hammam, Amar Akway, Lina Zhang, Anja Rubik and Kristen McMenamy.
However, the end result didn’t thrill most of our forum members. “Looks like H&M or something. Steven is wasting Meisel money,” MagFan said.
“Versace for H&M part two,” echoed DK92.
“They look too photoshopped and kind of CGI. That’s not good,” Scotty criticized.

“Wow, that looks awful! Looks like Skims from Meisel. Same level of cheapness. Absolutely tragic,” thiago proclaimed :).
“It feels like a glorified behind-the-scenes shoot…it’s even more depressing that we’ve come to this in terms of visual art,” GERGIN said.
“Hideous, the clothes seriously look like $10 knockoffs you’d find on a street corner in Los Angeles. The photograph is perfect for the windows of a tacky barber shop nearby,” YohjiAddict said.
“What a disappointment…” added guimon.
But not everyone agreed. “This may not be the most brilliant or breathtaking campaign Meisel has ever done, but I love it and will always show my support for Meisel! Great casting…” Aracic agreed.
