‘Brilliant’ high school students show off their solar knowledge
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – More than 100 bright high school students got to show off their solar knowledge.
The Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) held its twenty-sixth annual Solar Olympics on Wednesday at the University of Wisconsin in Green Bay.
Many area schools participated in 13 solar-themed events, ranging from Solar Jeopardy to Solar Cooker.
Valders High School took first place overall. Wausau West and Marinette finished second and third.
WPS wrote, “Students used their science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) skills to create machines and plans that incorporate solar energy.”
