Bank, partner of the SBRC | Occupational safety

The Scottish Center for Business Resilience (SBRC) and Royal Bank of Scotland have formalized a partnership. The bank will provide access to cybersecurity workshops delivered by SBRC to its corporate and commercial customers.

Jude McCorry, CEO of SBRC, pictured, said: “Time and time again we see fear overcome individuals and organizations when the subject of cyber preparedness comes up. Royal Bank’s proactivity in expanding the already strong relationship with SBRC is to be commended. This partnership we have created with Royal Bank and the steps they are taking to support their customers is unique in Scotland. Through the programs and workshops we will be offering, this will help to further spread the cyber awareness of organizations across Scotland.

Royal Bank will promote relevant workshops and resources through its Business Centre, rbsbusinesshub.com. You will find on the Business centre.

The bank has been a member of the SBRC for five years. Given the increase in cyber incidents, the bank worked with SBRC on how its business customers could be better prepared to mitigate the impact of digital crime. From now on, the bank’s local authorities and higher education customers will have access to this value-added training. This will include invitations to attend “Exercise in a Box” = workshops in June and executive scenario planning sessions, tailored to suit each client.

Malcolm Buchanan, Managing Director, Corporate & Commercial Banking, Scotland at Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “While all of our customers have been impacted by the grips of the pandemic over the past two years, the day-to-day challenges we were faced before have not gone away – including cyber hackers and scams. The threat of cyber security incidents is higher than ever, and so where we can support some of our customer base by providing advice and access to education to ensure they don’t become the next victim – we will. By partnering with the SBRC, we will not only be able to introduce cyber experts directly to our customers, but we will also be able to extend the training of many of our local government and higher education customers who wish to have skills and expertise to deal with the threat at hand.”
